People – Marco Croci

Marco Croci, known as “Crus,” the creative maker behind Crus Yacht.

After graduating in naval engineering, he learned traditional and composite construction in France, spending his days shaping wood and laminates and his nights sketching hulls, lines, and ideas.

In 2005 he built the first Truc 12 — one trunk of cedar, some fiberglass, and a stubborn belief that small boats could still be beautiful, simple, and true.
That small wooden boat became a cult object and marked the beginning of his journey.

«A boat must first be something you fall in love with. Everything else comes after.»

After the 2008 crisis, Marco stepped into marketing and communication companies for
over a decade — learning how to build brands, teams, and products — but never stopped
sketching boats.

In 2024 he returned to his true element: a workshop, some tools, and the freedom to create.

Today he oversees production, design, and every boat that leaves the yard — one at a time, with the same care of the very first.

Back in time: Marco on the day of the launch of the very first Truc 12 he built.
